Our Foundation Principal, Mr Paul Cockrem, MEdRel, BEd has had extensive experience in public and independent schools.

Mr Cockrem continues to be fully committed to ensuring that each and every RJ student succeeds under his care so they can become confident within themselves and serve society in a meaningful way.

When you meet Mr Cockrem, you will be impressed with how passionate he is about RJ. You will note his genuine affection for the students and his delight in watching them develop into mature young adults as they progress through the School.


Mr Cockrem is assisted by a highly talented and very experienced School Executive:

Mr Alan Dawson, Deputy Principal
MEdLead, MMusStud, BMus, BA, AdvDipChristianMin&BibStudies
Mr Dawson joined the RJ community in 2017 and has had extensive leadership and teaching experience in Independent K-12 schools. Mr Dawson is responsible for RJ’s day to day organisation and oversees student welfare and leadership development.

Mrs Jenny Clay, Head of Secondary/Assistant Principal
MEd, BA, DipEd

Mrs Clay has had extensive teaching experience across K-12 in both public and independent schools. Mrs Clay has been an integral part of the RJ community since 2002.

Mrs Narelle Taylor, Head of Primary/Assistant Principal

Mrs Taylor has been involved in Primary Education in Independent Schools since 2000. She joined the RJ community in 2012.

Mrs Stephanie Ghali, Operations Manager
MCom(ProfAcc), MIPA AFA, ADipTh, JP

Mrs Ghali has been involved in a number of Christian Schools as Bursar or Finance Manager and joined the RJ community late 2015 in the newly established role of Operations Manager.


Our School is owned by The Anglican Schools Corporation which delegates some matters (including the strategic direction of RJ) to the Richard Johnson Anglican School Council made up of experienced and well qualified Christian volunteers: 

Rev. David Mears, BSc, BD(Hons), MA

Rev. Mears is the Senior Minister at Christ Church, Gladesville (Sydney), and formerly Minchinbury Anglican Church in Western Sydney. His four sons attended RJ when they lived nearby. Rev. Mears has served on the School Council since 2010 and is a member of the Safe Ministry Board of the Sydney Diocese. In 2017, Rev. Mears took on the role of Council Chair.

Mrs Mary Perera, BEc, CPA, AGIA, ACIS, CGMA
Mrs Perera is an experienced finance business partner with a history in both the education and financial services industries. Mrs Perera has been employed by The Anglican Schools Corporation since 2008 and is RJ's designated School Service Team Leader.

Mrs Ann South
Mrs South is a retired Secondary Teacher and has been heavily involved in pastoral ministry. Mrs South has served on the School Council since 2012.

Mrs Chris McGregor, BA, DipEd
Mrs McGregor was a HR director with the ATO for 20 years and before that a Secondary Teacher. She currently manages an online recruitment advisory business and volunteers with refugee and immigrant groups. Mrs McGregor has been a School Council member since 2014.

Mr Stephen Longley, MBA
Mr Longley's four children have attended RJ and his family has been a part of the RJ community for a very long time. Mr Longley has worked in large retail and corporate organisations for over 30 years. He has served on the School Council since 2013.

Mr George Mallos, Dip Law, Member Law Society NSW
Mr Mallos has practiced law for the past 40 years extensively in the field of litigation, and runs his own business, acting as both an advisor and advocate for his claimants. His success as a lawyer is based on his ability to listen to people to identify and understand their problems and expectations, skills which he therefore brings to the RJ School Council, serving the School community in a voluntary capacity. Mr Mallos joined the School Council in 2017.
