Our Marsden Park Campus provides Pre-Kindergarten students with an excellent School Readiness Program designed to prepare them for Kindergarten and more formal school education.

Our program will provide your child with opportunities to acquire early literacy and numeracy concepts and skills in a supportive and stimulating learning environment. Your child will also learn about God and His Creation through story, song and role-play. They will be able to explore, create, question and make connections about our world and their place within it through developmental play-based learning and explicit instruction. They will actively engage with people, objects and the environment as they increasingly become confident learners and effective communicators.

As well as experiencing a sense of ‘Belonging, Being and Becoming’ (identified through the Learning Outcomes of ‘The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia’), your child will be well prepared for formal schooling via:

Early Curriculum - introduction to relevant ‘Early Stage 1’ (Kindergarten) outcomes of the NSW BOSTES Curriculum across the six Key Learning Areas:

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Science and Technology
  • Human Society and Its Environment
  • Personal Development, Health and Physical Education
  • Creative Arts

RJAS Community Involvement – being a part of two multi-age Campuses provides opportunities to engage with students of different ages through special activities including Bandage Bear Day, Grandparents’ Day, Family Service, Mini-Athletics, Family Bike Day, Primary Musicals and other performance related opportunities.

Extra-curricular opportunities – Library, Excursions and Incursions, Pre-K Mini Athletics, Primary Assemblies, etc.

Social and Emotional Development – provided through loving and caring relationships with Christian staff, as well as through the research-based ‘You Can Do It’ Early Childhood Program.

Smooth transition to Kindergarten – familiarity with RJ staff, the RJ environment, expectations and routines. There is automatic entry into Kindergarten at either Campus. (Parents will be asked at the end of Term 2 to commit to a Campus for the following year so that any vacancies can be filled accordingly.)

Program DaysIn 2019, parents can register their preference for two days; (Monday, Tuesday) or (Wednesday, Thursday); three days (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday); four days (Monday to Thursday); and a five day program. Please note that, due to the nature of the Pre-K School Readiness Program, new Pre-K enrolments are not accepted after the commencement of Term 3 as the class will be too far advanced.

Currently students attend from 8:50am to 3:05pm.

"Our son is very keen to go to Pre-K each day. He likes the environment, the culture and most importantly his teacher. He constantly talks about what he has learnt.”
