Year 7 History students learn about life (and lunch) as a convict.

On Wednesday 15 June, Year 7 History classes visited the Hyde Park Barracks Museum and the Australian Museum in Sydney.

This excursion focused on exploring primary and secondary historical sources and how we can gain an understanding of the past through a range of evidence.

What I enjoyed most was the 'Australian Museum'. There were so many different species of mammals, insects, fish and reptiles - most of which I never knew existed! This museum gives me an idea of how beautiful the world really is.
It was quite fascinating having a look at the history of convicts. The one thing I will never forget is how the convicts in Australia lived, sleeping in the really bad conditions.
