There is an extensive range of ‘family and friend’ involvement at RJAS.  Events such as our annual Grandparents’ and Grandfriends’ Day, Education Week Open Day and the Creative Arts Festival are all opportunities for the extended community to become involved in the life of School.  We extend a regular invitation to all parents to assist in the classrooms with reading, craft, computers, as well as volunteering in the Canteen.
In the Secondary section, the Annual Art Competitions, Performing Arts Festival, RJ All Stars, Public Speaking and Debating Competitions, all enable students to explore their talents through a diverse range of experiences. Different programs are developed each year to provide Enrichment and Extension activities across the curriculum and outside the curriculum.

The School Sport program is very diverse and RJAS is a member of the Christian Schools’ Sports Association, allowing the students to compete at Zone, State and National levels in many sporting domains.  In addition, opportunities regularly arise for students to participate in Gala Days in team sports such as soccer, netball, basketball, cricket etc.

Extracurricular activities such as the Duke of Edinburgh program have been introduced.  There is an extensive Music program catering for Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced learners, along with visiting peripatetic music tutors and a variety of Band programs.  Public Speaking and Debating feature highly in the mid-year calendar, while RJ AllStars seeks to foster performance-based talent across the School.

Secondary students have the opportunity to develop and explore their faith and God-given gifts through involvement in the School’s Chapel program, which is student-driven under the oversight of the staff.  In learning to lead others and share their faith in a safe environment, they develop skills which can be taken to their local churches and communities, for the benefit of others.

Students are also given opportunity to share in the wider community through Mission Trips and are encouraged to be involved with Christian activities sponsored by World Vision, Fusion, Anglican Youthworks and Crusaders. In 2008, the School’s Mission Trip was to North Western NSW and this area will be the focus for a number of years.

Staff aim to assist students to realise their potential and to develop the ‘whole’ person - spiritually and academically - by being involved in their lives and their learning.  Students are encouraged to see that in Christ, all things are possible.
